In June, we celebrated Philippine Independence at the Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival, the longest-running Philippine cultural festival in the Pacific Northwest. As part of the festival, Diwa ran a free screening program featuring 30 films celebrating the Filipino spirit wherever it resides. I was interviewed by Andrew Hamlin of Northwest Asian Weekly about my work on this.

Filipinos in Seattle are so supportive of each other and love expressing themselves and collaborating with each other. We have so many awesome artists, small businesses, and community leaders here thanks to the long history of Filipinos in Seattle, and I am so humbled to have the opportunity to continue this legacy through the film festival.”
